This was our typical breakfast. They provide breakfast on the last day while you wait to disembark. We were the last group to get off the ship so we hung out on the back of the ship until our color was called.
The view from the back of the ship. It was a cloudless and warm day in Seattle. We could see Mt. Rainier.
This gull wanted our food. He eventually moved closer hoping to sneak something. The ship staff are very quick to clear your plates and advise you not to leave your food unattended so that the birds don’t get used to getting food from the ship.
Getting off the ship. We could see the Space Needle.
Lego man riding the bus to the airport. We got to the airport at 11 am and our flight didn’t leave until 9 pm.
We decided to take the Sounders train to downtown Seattle. Seattle streets were surprisingly steep.
Pike’s Place Public Market. They had beautiful flowers in the market. I wish I could have brought some home but I didn’t know if the airline would allow it.
For you Dad. Made me think of Paria.
It was 90 degrees the day we were in Seattle and it was a Saturday so walking through the market was hot and busy. We didn’t even get to see the fish throwing.
We ate at Red Robin for “lunch” and had a view of the water. In fact the restaurant is built over the water.
Double decker freeway.
More Seattle streets and buildings.
We took an underground Seattle tour. It was really neat and I learned a lot. We walked where the sidewalks used to be before they raised the level of the town to avoid flooding.
This is a picture of the ceiling, however, that is the bottom of the current sidewalk.
Skylights in the sidewalk to provide light to the underground. The originals are purple in color due to the manganese in the glass.
Remnants of a sign in one of the underground locations.
You can see here where they filled in a previous doorway and put in a new doorway. However, they misjudged the level of the street because they put in the streets last after building modifications were made.
Part of the underground that has been refurbished and includes shops.
Our tour guide holding Lego man. He was a great guide!
Seattle is very green including vines growing up the sides of buildings.
I was fascinated by this building. It was eye-catching because it was bright white and tall.
The train and bus station. Mt. Rainier from the train.
Mt. Rainier from the airport gate.
Sunset and Mt. Rainier from the plane.
