We had a great time at the Phoenix Christian Grade School’s Fall Festival. Nate’s favorite was playing the games and he came home with a bag full of prizes. Ellie’s favorite was the obstacle course. Eve loved riding a horse.

Desert Botanical Gardens
We thought these looked like pickles.
We thought these looked like snakes.
Old Man cactus.
Lots and lots of butterflies!
Releasing butterflies. We happened to be in the butterfly pavilion when the lady announced we were going to be able to release butterflies. We released 12 butterflies. The kids thought it was great! The butterflies were born the day before in California and refrigerated to 60 degrees so that they don’t move in transport. They were then sent to Arizona for us to release. They came in wax coated envelopes and there were four in each envelope. We had to carefully tear off the end and open the envelope to let the butterflies out. Some of them were too cold to fly so we had to hold our hands under the envelope to warm them up.
Some of the butterflies we released.
Before we entered they had told us that the monarch butterflies don’t normally land on people but one landed on Paul’s leg. One landed on another lady’s head and Eve thought it was hilarious. She laughed so hard it made other people laugh.
Nate was trying to get a butterfly to land on him.
Trying to look like the cactus behind them.
The Chihuly glass plants.

Randomness
Fry’s Foods had a pre-Halloween trick or treat around the store so we dressed up and headed out. It turned out that the kids were bored because there weren’t that many places to trick or treat.
Paul’s birthday and his birthday cheesecake.
Eve modeling on the stairs. She loves the stairs.
After Halloween finds at Wal-Mart. Pirate accessories and glittery pink fairy wings.
Aren’t they cute?
Eve loves Nate’s sword and is very good at handling it and screaming at the same time.
