Spontaneous family trip to Globe

We decided on Saturday morning of MLK weekend to take a trip up to Superior/Oak Flat/Globe. I booked a hotel and we were off before lunch. We ate lunch at Los Hermanos and picked up some fresh tortillas.

After lunch, we stopped at Oak Flat to do some exploring.

We met up with Paul’s friend from high school in Globe. We ate dinner at a hot dog restaurant where you could race slot cars. After dinner, we went to the movies. Paul and Brent saw American Sniper and the moms and kids saw Paddington Bear. Since the boys’ movie went longer, the moms and kids went to Dairy Queen.

We stayed at the Days Inn in Globe. The kids had fun jumping on the beds.

I.d.e.a. Museum

I have this bad habit of buying deals and then needing to use them the last weekend before they expire. We visited the I.d.e.a. museum in Mesa using one of those deals.

This was probably their favorite activity. It was a TV screen that you spelled words on by dragging the letters to their proper place.

The girls and I could go in the smaller side of the museum. Nate was free to roam on his own.
