Happy Mother’s Day!

I had a great day and am so proud of my wonderful kids and I am blessed that God has chosen me to be their Mom.

Discovery Time with Pastor John. Nate brought a Lego “pirate ducky.” Pastor was pretty stumped of what to say about it.

Nate had lots of presents for me (Mandy) this morning. The first was “breakfast in a bag.” Inside the bag was two chocolate muffins and a bottle of water. Nate was disappointed that the muffins were squished but I convinced him it was not big deal and that they still would taste the same. He insisted that we sit down on the floor of my room to eat them.

Next was a card. In the middle is pictures of people kissing and hugging. On the back was some soldier hearts. When I asked what was on the right side of all the hearts, he said spears (of course!).

Next up was a handprint flower (made with my favorite color). As I read the poem on the back, I started to cry. Nate got really worried and we assured him they were not bad tears. He in response said “it’s ok, when I get bigger I will come back and visit you and well I know you are going to die before me but that’s ok because I will come visit you in heaven!”

If you saw Paul’s post a couple days ago on Facebook about making the word love into a trampoline, here is the note. He said at first it was going to be a spider web but then he turned it into a trampoline. He also gave me some of his Easter candy to go with this note.

Ellie made me a card. On the front it had a drawing of a door. On the inside, she read to me what it said and it said all sorts of lovely things (you can’t read her writing). On the back is a picture of me with Eve. She was so proud that we have teeth in the picture. She exclaimed “I learned how to draw teeth!”

Teacher Appreciation Week—Part 2

To show appreciation on Thursday we were to bring school supplies to help replenish the teacher’s stock. We brought Kleenex, hand sanitizer, baby wipes, fun stickers, fun paper clips, and fun sticky notes. Although a couple weeks before we had brought her a big bag of packing peanuts which she said was a “gift from heaven.” Nate made a card. On the front of it was all of the words that he could think of that he knew how to spell (a total of 24). Inside he wrote some math problems, the math symbols, and numbers. He wanted to show the teacher how much he had learned.

Friday was to bring a special gift. We made her “almost candy bars” and Mommy made a card for the teacher.
