Teacher Appreciation Week

This week is teacher appreciation week at Nate’s school. The first day is to bring them chocolate. I found a cute idea on a blog I check regularly call treat tins. Here is Nate’s treat tin for his teacher. He even measured the can himself and cut out the paper to his measurements. It amazes me what a child can learn in only two years of school!

Desert Botanical Gardens

It was such a gorgeous day today that we wanted to be outside. Nate, Ellie, and I (Mandy) went to Desert Botanical Gardens.

Hanging out on the “Indian trail.” The kids loved the shelters on this trail so much that we went on the trail twice.

Grinding up mesquite tree beans to make flour. The kids decided to taste it. Nate said he liked it and Ellie spit it out.

Someone found a common king snake. The kids loved looking at it, touching it, and holding it.
