Kite Flying

We had bought some kites on clearance and Nate has been wanting to try them out. Nate's is Cars and Ellie's is Cinderella. There was a little bit of a breeze this afternoon so we went outside despite the temperature to try them out.

Ellie enjoyed running with her kite. Daddy ended up flying Nate's kite more often than Nate.

They almost collided while running with their kites.

Nate eventually tried out his kite and got it up in the air a couple of times. Then we got too hot and went back inside.

Visit with Brent, Maria, and Cecilia

We went down to Casa Grande to see our good friends Brent, Maria, and Cecilia. We got to see their new house and had a great time catching up with them after two years.

Ellie and Cecilia loved reading together.

Playing bubbles in the backyard.

Splash!

Playing in the fountain at Tempe Marketplace. Ellie wasn't so sure about getting wet but loved trying to catch the water. Nate was soaked!

Trying to drink the water. Yuck!

Not very happy that they had to stop playing in the fountain.

Future olympians?

Nate and Ellie are aspiring to do everything the olympians do. They showed us their swimming ability here.

Hurdles.
They have also attempted gymnastics and imitated the divers. They love the Olympics!

Eggs

Nate asked if he could peel a hard-boiled egg. He did it so precisely and it came out very good.

However, a few days later when the egg peeling went unsupervised the peeling was not so precise. Oh well, deviled eggs won't be on the menu for lunch.

Mmmmm, donuts!!

Mommy and the kids headed out to Dunkin' Donuts for their grand opening but decided the line was too long so instead we got donuts at Bashas. We ate in their little cafe area and the kids quickly finished their donuts and had some of Mommy's too. Bashas is Nate's favorite new place because they have the "Cub House" where they make a craft and play with toys while Mommy shops. Mommy likes it too because she can actually remember everything she went to the store for. Nate has been asking everyday what we have run out of and when we tell him something he says ok we need to go to Bashas.

Little Imitators

Nate taking over Daddy's guitar.

Ellie insisted on wearing Mommy's sleep shirt.
