After meeting my friend for breakfast at Wildflower Bread Company, I headed over to Eve’s preschool “snow” party.
One of the parent’s told the Christmas story in a very animated way.
They made ornaments and snowmen.
They played a marshmallow passing game with spoons. The first marshmallow took over 2 minutes to get down the line.
Next was the snowman making contest. Jasmine was Eve’s partner.
After eating “walking tacos” in the third grade room, Eve and I headed out for free stuff and shopping.
First stop was Dutch Bros. coffee for my free birthday drink. Eve got a chocolate milk. In between sips she was busy singing me Christmas songs she made up.
Next stop was Sprinkles for my birthday cupcake. I got vanilla with chocolate cream cheese frosting.
Next stop was Sports Authority to buy my birthday present which was a new pair of inline skates. My old pair (that I had for over 20 years) decided to break the last time we went skating. Hopefully my new skates will be as good to me as the old pair. The old pair helped me play many games of roller hockey and were great recreational skates.
Eve and I shopped the rest of the afternoon so that I could try to get all the Christmas shopping done.
We went to Mimi’s Café for dinner. Eve had suggested we have muffins for dinner so I thought Mimi’s would be perfect. Well when we got there we found out they no longer serve breakfast past 11 am. They also had changed their dinner menu. Disappointed but we stayed anyway since we were hungry. I did get a free brownie and ice cream for my birthday.
Next adventure was to look at Christmas lights. We stop at one particular house every year (it happens to be one of Nate’s classmates) that has thousands of lights set to music, a snow machine, and you can even roast marshmallows. The Scottsdale fire department was also there and they were handing out hats.
Final stop of the night was Grammy and Grampy’s since we were driving by to look at their lights.
Overall, I had a great birthday!
