Camping at Canyon Point in June

We had some wildlife that seemed to be assigned to our campsite. We had the resident squirrel.

The resident chipmunk. The chipmunk decided to get in our food box when the lid was left off. Luckily we caught it in the act and it didn’t eat anything. I put the lid on and the chipmunk came back to see if he could get some food and was very disappointed that the lid was on the food box. It frantically ran around the box and got up on Ellie’s bike to see if it could get in the box. When it decided it couldn’t get in the box it headed for the trash can. It jumped in the trash can and grabbed a piece of cinnamon roll. Paul came up to shoo him away and the chipmunk got scared and jumped out of the trash and into our trailer. The chipmunk figured out very quickly that going in the trailer was not an escape route and ran out the door. I wish we would’ve recorded it.

Dissecting owl pellets. Nate had just done it in school and Ellie wasn’t so sure she wanted to touch it. They found skulls and lots of other bones.
