Thursday we went to Disney California Adventure Park. We didn’t know what to expect since we had never visited the park. We were much more organized and were able to get into the park before it opened.
Ellie anxiously awaiting our departure from our room.
Waiting for the park to open while Opa waited in the Radiator Springs Racers FastPass line.
We hopped on the trolley which was great because it took us to the back of the park and we didn’t have to walk through the crowds.
Paul and I headed to the Hollywood Tower of Terror and Oma took the kids to Bugs Land.
Just as we got done with the tower, Opa had gotten our FastPasses. We all met up to hang out in Bugs Land. First we rode the bumper cars.
Then Heimlich’s Chew Chew Train.
Ladybugs.
Nate was taking some pictures while we were waiting and ended up with these two great shots.
Flik’s Flyers.
Meeting Flik.
Radiator Springs. Disney does such a great job with their themes and Radiator Springs looks just like the movie.
Luigi’s tires.
The Disney cast member had us sing happy birthday to Ellie which she thoroughly enjoyed. Eve did not like that we were singing Ellie happy birthday when it was not her birthday and decided to be crabby about it and not talk to any of us.
Luigi’s tires rides on air and they were blowing up Eve’s skirt.
Lean! You get the hang of this ride when it is almost finished but it was fun anyway.
Radiator Springs characters. Red honked Ellie happy birthday (which again Eve was not happy about).
Waiting for Mater’s Tractors.
This was one of my favorite rides.
Heading to Radiator Springs Racers.
On the ride. It was fun!
Hanging out trying to decide what to do.
Ariel’s Grotto Adventure.
Midway Mania.
We had a snack of ice cream and cotton candy.
Symphony Swings. This was Eve’s favorite. It was fun to see out over the bay especially at sunset with the moon coming up. Eve was our ticket to the front of the line since she wasn’t tall enough to ride on her own she had to ride in a special tandem seat. They would have you go in a separate line for the tandem seats.
Ellie didn’t want to ride the swings.
She loved riding on the Jumping Jellyfish. She must have ridden this 10 times.
The Golden Zephyr.
The parade. The martians are my favorite.
Paul and I rode California Screamin three times. We convinced my Dad to go once. We could not convince the kids to go with us. When we went towards the line the first time, the kids ran up behind us to give us hugs and kisses. They were convinced we were not going to survive the roller coaster. The kids rode the Carousel instead.
More swinging. This time at sunset.
More Jellyfish.
View of the moon and the Mickey’s Fun Wheel. We were going to go on the Fun Wheel but it appeared they had a clean up to do so they weren’t boarding anyone for 15 minutes. We decided to do the swings and jellyfish instead.
Nate finally got daring enough to let go and fly.
Jellyfish at night was fun because you could see all the lights over the bay.
We rode Soarin’ Over California as our last ride before the World of Color show. Ellie was throwing a fit about not wanting to ride. Eve was getting tired. Ellie really got worried when they mentioned a fear of heights. The Disney crew member was great and allowed Ellie to wait in the arrivals if she didn’t want to ride. Ellie decided to ride and she ended up liking it. She said “I kicked a surfer in the head!” after we got off the ride.
World of Color. We didn’t have a great spot but it was good enough. It was a fun show.
In the gift shop, Eve fell asleep on me. We transferred her to Paul and she didn’t wake up. We rode the bus and she didn’t wake up. We changed her into her Pull-up and she didn’t wake up (she wondered in the morning why she slept in her clothes). She was one worn out girl!
We had a great time at California Adventure!
