Nate went to volcano camp last week in Flagstaff. They blew stuff up which was his favorite part (Diet Coke and Mentos, Baking Soda and Vinegar,etc.). They learned about all the kinds of volcanos and made volcano candles. On Tuesday they went to Sunset Crater and on Thursday he went to the Lava Tubes.
Nate got a new bike and enjoyed riding it everyday with his new friend Eli (they spent lots of time running over bubble wrap which I hear sounds like firecrackers). Oma, Opa, and Nate went to see Nick play softball for the Bookman’s team and has a new favorite restaurant in Flagstaff called Tacos los Altos. Nate has also come to appreciate the time 9:14 in honor of Opa’s car. They also went to an event called “Touch the Truck” on Saturday where you could get in, climb on, honk horns, etc. of all kinds of vehicles.
They had army vehicles.
Police motorcycle.
Snow removal equipment.
Limousine that was showing “Cars” the movie.
Ice cream truck.
City bus.
Construction equipment.
Fire truck.
They even had a medical helicopter land at noon.
Nate had a great time but is glad to be home.
