Christmas Eve and Christmas
We all had the flu after we got back from California except Nate. We were having fever contests. Opa won with 103.3. We warned our family that they would want to stay away unless they wanted to get sick. We stayed home from Christmas Eve service. We still opened presents but we all looked pretty pathetic.
We had to cancel going over to Grammy and Grampy’s house on Christmas Day. Grandma and Aunt Robin decided to take a chance and brought over their gifts. This is the only picture I have from Christmas day.
See the cool shadow?
Surprise trip to California-Legoland
Ellie still was not feeling well and Opa didn’t feel well so the morning started out a little rough. We headed out to Legoland along with half of California. It took us an hour and a half to get off the freeway and to the parking spot at Legoland. It was pure craziness! We then spent another half hour in line to get tickets and get into the park. At least it wasn’t raining! We also had some very generous people give us three free tickets that they were not going to use. Nate still had a great time even though we only rode three rides because it was so busy. Luckily since it was so busy they extended the closing time by two hours.
Eve was such a trooper the whole trip! Ellie had double ear infections which were aggravated on our mountain detour the GPS lady told us to take home and Nate stayed up until 2:30 am building his Lego police boat. We got home safe, sound, and sick with the flu at 5 am.
Surprise trip to California-Watched Tangled and went to the beach
Since it was still raining, we decided not to go to Legoland on Wednesday. The other unfortunate thing was that Ellie woke up with a temperature of 104 and spent most of the day sleeping.
The kids hung out and played games in the hotel room. They also really loved jumping on the beds.
We decided to go watch the movie Tangled.
Then we went to Oceanside Beach after it had finally stopped raining. We were going to eat at Ruby’s Diner at the end of the pier but they were closed because of rain damage. It was very windy! It was even too windy to fly Nate’s kite. Nate enjoyed looking for seashells while Eve enjoyed swinging and while Ellie napped in the stroller.
