Unfortunately we don't have any pictures for last week happenings but we had some fun.
On Thursday we went on a field trip with Nate's kindergarten class. We had pizza at his school and then we all got on the school bus. Ellie thought the school bus was going to be a lot of fun. It turned out to be very warm on the bus and she was so hot. On the way to the library we drove right past our house because our bus driver was smart and knew that there was construction on Indian School. We took a tour of the library and they had a story/song time. Nate was excited because he got his own library card which is much cooler than his parents' library cards. He even checked out a book using his own card. Ellie loved hanging out with all the kids on the kitty claw couch in the kid's area. We got to meet some of Nate's friends and their parents.
On Saturday we went to the Christian grade school's party at Van Hofwegen's house. The kids loved swimming with all the other kids. Ellie insisted she could swim and wanted to go out to the deeper part of the pool with the other kids. She can keep her head above water but I wouldn't quite call it swimming. Nate was able to swim all over the place with Samantha and Kirsten. He even jumped off the diving board many times. We had a great potluck. Nate attached himself to two of the older girls (I think they were in 7th grade) and followed them everywhere. They tried to ditch him many times but he always found them back. Ellie found a girl that was drawing pictures and sat by her most of the night. Nate convinced some people to play volleyball with him and later in the car declared he was the best volleyball player. I suppose if you consider volleyball to just be throwing the ball over the net then he did pretty good.
