Nate’s friend birthday party
Well we had planned to have Nate’s birthday party at the train park, however, there was an 80% chance of rain. So we decided to go to plan b which was staying at church. Good thing we did because it was windy and cold outside even though it wasn’t actively raining. Nate was not at all disappointed. The kids all love to play together at church so they were excited they got to stay and play. Kate brought out the bounce house which Nate was super excited he had a bounce house at his birthday party.
Playing the game “Pass the Bag.” It is sort of like hot potato with a bag full of stuff. When the music stopped you had to pull one item from the bag and put it on. The kids got some good laughs from this game. The best laughs were when Cabot got a purple purse, Zach got a tiara, and Nate got a skirt. Other things in the bag were a necklace, bracelet, ring, men’s dress shirt, shawl, police hat, pink hair headband, kitty ears headband, bat glasses, cowboy vest, witch finger, lei, and a blue shoe.
The next game was a classic from my friend’s childhood birthday parties. Drop the clothespin into the cup.
Next was presents. Nate enjoyed all of his gifts.
Birthday cookies.
Playing Legos.
Eve really liked Nate’s balloons.
Party Day
Nate’s classmate had a birthday party on Saturday at the park near our house. Ellie was allowed to go along too. Nate and Dana have the same birthday. Unfortunately, Nate was the only classmate that went to Dana’s party.
Then Nate had the Cadet Christmas party Saturday night. Here they are trying to get a cookie from their forehead to their mouth without touching it.
Nate the great is 8!
Presents from Mommy and Daddy.
We went to Winterfest at Grammy and Grampy’s church. The kids did a scavenger hunt, played carnival games, and made crafts.
They had these blow up crazy wiggly guys all over at Winterfest. Eve loved to watch them and even did a pretty good impression of their motion.
Birthday dessert was at Dairy Queen. Outside there was a horse to ride.
Nate’s birthday was the day for holiday parties at school. We went to Nate’s class first and helped out and brought cupcakes for his birthday. Then it was on to Ellie’s classroom.

Ellie made the wrapping paper for the handprint calendar she made for us.

This duck at the beach was not shy at all. It felt free to walk all over our stuff.
Paul, Nate, and Ellie went to the State Fair to watch the demolition derby.
Eve loves her Stormy!
Eve’s first dentist visit. She loves to brush her teeth. She was a great patient.
Paul and Nate went to the Arizona Auto Show.
Eve and her backpack. She wants to be like the big kids.
Nate at Jambo in the big climber and outside the big climber.
This is what happens when you leave Eve alone with a sticker on her shirt. First she removed her shirt and then she stuck the sticker to her face. Paul found her this way after her nap.
