Scottsdale’s Civic Center Library has a fun exhibit right now called Camp Dreamtree. I took the neighbor kids and our kids to check it out.

Hanging out at Grandma and Grandpa Winn’s House
Mid-May we went to Grandma and Grandpa Winn’s house and went swimming and had dinner. The girls were cold after swimming so they curled up on the couch with their blankets.

Walk with Eve
On the last night the other two kids had Gems/Cadets, Eve and I went for a walk. She wanted to walk far.
The conversation went like this:
Me: However far we walk we have to walk back.
Eve: I know
Me: Do you think your little legs can make it a long way
Eve: (looking down at her right leg) Little leg can you make it?
Leg: Yes
Eve: (looking down at her left leg) Little leg can you make it?
Leg: Yes
So off we went around the big block.
As we were on the last part of the walk Eve says “I told you my little legs could make it.”

Art Walk and Science Fair
Nate and his orange kachina, purple flower and self portrait.
Also Nate’s idiom picture. It says “The cops are on my heel = the cops are after me”
Ellie and her friend looking at the science projects.
Ellie’s drawing.
Each kid in the school designs a small square of art that gets put into a collage. Ellie’s is on the left and Nate’s is on the right.
Mother’s Day
On the Friday before Mother’s Day, Eve’s class had a Mother’s/Grandmother’s Tea. They did a program for us and gave us gifts. We also had cake, fruit kebabs, chocolate covered strawberries, and pink party punch.
We visited with my Grandma on Saturday and had dinner at IHOP. On Sunday we had Barro’s pizza for lunch with my parents and Mike.
On Mother’s Day they hand out flowers to all the ladies at church. There were a bunch left over and we took them home.
This is what they looked like when I put them in vases. I wasn’t sure the purple ones were going to make it.
I put pennies in the water (my friend told me that trick) and the next day they looked like this.
Random May Moments
I got a bouquet of flowers for the kids to take flowers out of for flower day for Teacher Appreciation Week. This cheery flower was in that bouquet so I took it to work because I needed something cheery at work.
Sister moment.
Paul’s grandparents were getting rid of some stuff including this older style popcorn popper. The kids were fascinated by it and had fun watching it pop. We just need to remember to watch out for those kernels that don’t pop in the popper but instead pop once they are in the bowl.
