Flagstaff-Thursday

Eve is so proud of herself when she is standing up.

We convinced Aunt Tay to come with us to Pizza Hut and then to the mall while we waited for it to be time to go pick up Oma and Opa from the Flagstaff airport. The kids ran so hard and were very tired.

Hanging out at the airport waiting for Oma and Opa. We are hanging out by the door where the passengers come in off the tarmac. Nate got really good at holding Eve since Mommy was all by herself with all three kids. He was a great helper.

A funny thing happened at the airport. I thought I recognized someone at the airport and finally figured out that I did know who it was. I talked to her and it was who I thought it was. It was someone from Paul’s marketing group when he was in college. It was funny since the plane that Oma and Opa came in on only carries about 25 people so how likely is it that you would run into someone you know.

Traffic Jam

We got to spend an hour going 4 miles on Thursday on the way up to Flagstaff. Luckily Eve was napping and the other kids were great sports. We analyzed the garbage on the side of the road, we got a good look at the landscape that we normally go by much faster, and the kids learned about mesas and riverbeds. When I (Mandy) said we were stuck in a traffic jam Ellie clarified that jam is also a food. Since we were going so slow (at least we were moving) we had time to take some pictures.

When we got closer to Flagstaff we drove into a humongous monsoon storm. The rain drops were so big at one point it was like someone was throwing water balloons at us. At other points you could hardly see. We were thankful to arrive safely in Flagstaff.

Eve reached out to get Daddy’s phone. She was so excited and proud of herself! She knew she wasn’t supposed to have it.

Sunday Swimming

 

Nate has become quite a swimmer. Ellie is getting better every time and is willing to not use her floaties most of the time. Eve loves hanging out in the water.

Friday

On Loop 101 on Friday evening. Too bad there are light poles in the way but still thought it was really cool. The kids kept asking if God was doing that.

She is trying so hard to crawl. She has become quite the contortionist.

More Flagstaff Fun

Enjoying being outside.

This is a neighbor’s cat that was not shy. The kids put leaves on its back and it didn’t even care. It wasn’t at all scared of the kids.

Eve enjoyed standing up in a sculpture that Uncle Nick made in high school. She fit perfectly.

 

After it rained on Sunday, we took a walk and I (Mandy) took the kids to see the “ditch.” My brothers and I used to spend a lot of time here, especially when it rained.

Tea party at Oma and Opa’s after the toy store tea party. Ellie is wearing her new ballerina dress that has a music box inside it so she always has music with her. They had juice for tea and sugar bread for tea cakes. They used Oma’s tea set that Mommy used to have tea parties with.
