Their new swimsuits. Clearance finds are great!
Snorkeling.
Time to dry off.
Heading back home.
The first two pictures are of her face. She has her left hand over the left side of her face and her right hand against her right cheek. Her forehead is to the right and her mouth is in about the middle of the picture. We could never get a clear picture of her face. She is measuring a week smaller than I am and they estimate she is about 5 lbs 4 oz right now.
Foot.
Since Nate has learned to swim we are trying to encourage him to swim under water. His reward, if he had good Thursday and Friday at school, was a swimming mask and snorkel. He loved using it once he figured out how not to get water in the top. Ellie tried hers out and actually swam pretty good with it on. She can swim but not very effectively yet.
Ellie must have been really tired! She fell asleep on the couch while Daddy was vacuuming. She thought it was funny that she fell asleep in her princess dress.
Ellie must have been hungry. After I (Mandy) had put together the lasagna I left the spaghetti sauce mixing bowl on the counter and left the room. I soon hear Paul asking Ellie if Mommy said that it was ok for her to eat what was left in the bowl. I come into the kitchen and find Ellie with the big spoon helping herself to the spaghetti sauce. She cleaned the bowl pretty good.
What… I have no idea how this hole got in the mattress cover!
All is good though because we gave the mattress cover to Stormy after it melted in the dryer.
Nate was super excited to go to school. He has been counting down for the last two weeks. He popped right out of bed this morning and got dressed and then was ready to eat his breakfast. If only he moved this fast when we want him to move. His first words this morning were “Today is my first day of school!”
Here is his super excited look and his new outfit he picked out.
Daddy helping put his shoes on.
Walking down the sidewalk towards the school. We had to park quite a ways down the street.
Sitting at his table in Mrs. Crockett’s class.
Ellie was feeling very left out so we took a special picture of her by the school sign.
Lego exhibit. The kids could dress up as princesses, dragons, or knights. Nate could have stayed there all day building his castle.
The “Combustion” show.
Playing with the shadow wall. You could collect the virtual beads on you and then dump them off.
Our warped faces.
Super troopers! We walked about 0.4 of a mile each way to have lunch in the mid-afternoon heat. The kids didn’t even complain.
Wheelchair race. Nate won but Ellie wasn’t too far behind. They described it as being kinda hard to do. Also, in the human body exhibit (where the wheelchairs were) we got to see the dissection of a cow eyeball. Nate found it disgusting and wanted to leave and Ellie was completely interested and the presenter had her full attention.
Laying on a bed of nails. Paul is tough! We could not convince either of the kids to do it. On the way home Ellie insisted that she wanted to lay on the bed of nails.
Ellie was tired and taking a break by the water works. Nate was shooting the water canon.
Stormy loves clean laundry! He lays down on what’s already folded and then won’t move even if you put more laundry on top of him. He even fell asleep here for a little while.
